Main Show
* 2009 *
At the end of October last year we put on a hugely successful production of
HMS Pinafore

On at our usual venue at Poole’s Lighthouse, the show played to packed houses for all performances and received nothing but praise from everyone.
Again directed by Alan Spencer who created such an excellent production of The Sorcerer in 2008 and which we took to the international G&S Festival back in August, achieving several awards and coming 2nd overall.

Our Director this year will be Roberta Morrell who has been the inspiration behind 5 of our past productions, directing Iolanthe in 2002, Yeomen of the Guard in 2003, Ruddigore in 2004, The Pirates of Penzance in 2005 and Princess Ida in 2006. These were all marvellous shows, acclaimed by everyone who saw them and thoroughly enjoyed by the cast.
Musical direction will again be under the skilful baton of Jean Holt who has been the real power in giving us such a high reputation for the quality of all our music over the past 19 years.
Our Musical Director was Jean Holt who has been our MD now for 19 years and who certainly gets the best out of everyone musically. Having won Best Musical Director at the International G&S Festival, we are very fortunate to have such a talented musician as our MD.
If you would like to read the excellent review by Linda Kirkman for her magazine Scene One, which also appeared in the Bournemouth Echo, then please click here and you can see some photographs and video clips from the show here.
The last time we put on The Mikado was 10 years ago in 2000 and if you would like to see what we looked like back then, there are some photographs and video clips from the show here.
