NODA Accolade of Excellence

Every year the National Operatic and Dramatic Association - NODA - present ‘Accolades of Excellence’ to shows that are the best in their category.  In the last few years, we have TWICE won this accolade for our productions of The Yeomen of the Guard and The Pirates of Penzance.

Never a dull moment!

Our Main Show back in October last year was

The show was a huge success and we have had nothing but praise - see the Main Show page for some of the huge number of emails that we received.

Have a look at the excellent review in Scene One.

If you came to the show, we do hope you enjoyed it and thank you very much for your support.  If you would like to send us any comments, we would be delighted to hear from you.  Please click the button below.

Our production team of Director Alan Spencer and Musical Director Jean Holt created a superb show with beautiful costumes, lovely music and marvellous humour.

Please have a look at some of the photographs that were taken at the dress rehearsal here.

And last year?

On Easter Monday we were invited to put on a fully costumed concert version of The Mikado at West Green House in Hampshire and we have been asked back again. See the Other Events page for more details.

In June, we had our series of Spring Shows and Concerts which were very successful and enjoyed by our audiences. The show featured a specially written production called Ahoy Savoy! mainly based on the music from HMS Pinafore and Pirates of Penzance.

We always finish our year with a carol season leading up to Christmas, raising money for the Macmillan Cancer Unit at Christchurch.  We are very proud that over the many years of singing carols we have raised well over £55,000.  Last December again brought in over £3,500 to add to that total.

So what about 2012

It will certainly be as busy and exciting as last year!

We start with our Spring Shows in April and May called "Ballads, Songs and Snatches", with lots of the favourite G&S numbers woven into a thoroughly entertaining evening.

On May 20th we have been invited back to the very prestigious West Green House in Hampshire for a public performance of a fully costumed concert version of Patience - last year's show. See the 'Other Events' page for more details.

Our Main Show this year will be Iolanthe  which is one of the favourite G&S operas for many people.  Sparkling music and a hilarious story line involving members of the House of Lords and a group of mischievous fairies, the show will be very entertaining!
