E-
Well we are half way through the year and 2008 is proving to be as busy and exciting a year for the Society as 2007 was, with lots going on and many new members joining us.
We had a very successful concert season back in April and May which had the title of “G&S at the Zoo” because half the concert was a production of The Zoo with music by Sir Arthur Sullivan. If you came along to any of the concerts we do hope you had an enjoyable evening. Click here to read the excellent review by Linda Kirkman in the Echo.
Our main show this year will be -
with a new Director, Alan Spencer. He has huge experience of directing both professional
and amateur G&S shows, so we are all looking forward to what he will bring to our
production this year. It is on in Poole’s Centre for the Arts -
Last year’s show was the ever popular The Gondoliers. The show was full of colour and movement and once again was a resounding success with favourable comments flooding in from friends and critics alike. If you came to the show, thank you for your support and if you missed it then we are very sorry that you did! In any case, you can see some pictures and video clips from the show here.
If you would like to comment on the show, or any other event that you have seen us
doing, then please
as we are always very keen to know what people feel about
the things we do -
We finished 2007 with our carol season at Christmas raising money for the Macmillan Cancer Unit at Christchurch where the overall amount was well in excess of £3800 which is marvellous and our sincere thanks to all those who donated so generously.
